If this the case,
a) the company was very nice to him and letting him keep the shares.
b) Likely, he thought corp is going to take the shares back at per contract, and that was the whole reason he sued, in the first place.
c) now he is stuck in what himself has started. As there is a good chance the corp can take the shares back and sue him for damage.
If this the case, he should transfer some money to Cayman Island, if he needs to declare BK here.
