Yes, it was an "unforced error" to state in September: "They have six more weeks", which naturally everyone took to mean that by end of October the deal would be announced.
I do understand what Fortuno and others mean by "being played": Nader changes the narrative as it fits him: of course the six weeks were just the "due diligence" period ("obviously" to cite his words), while he had never mentioned that on the SH meeting... Now they are in the "final period" which takes 4-5 weeks... Well that period ends Friday...
IMO you can't do that as CEO of a publicly traded company, it is unethical (though some might say he is a "sly fox". Any employee in a leadership position at a normal company would be held accountable for such behaviour...
