As for the suggestion what needs to be done to right the wrong the CMF people did.
First of all, I fully agree with the poster, who wrote yesterday, that we should receive what was promised to us in the initial 1:1 dividend announcement. And if now all shareholders, ie. including those that had initially waived the dividend, would receive the dividend, then this would not be the same anymore. If I get to double my shares and only roughly 50% of all shareholders receive the same 1:1 then my overall share in the company increases, but if everyone gets the same dividend, then it is in fact nothing but a forward split. Big difference in my view.
What would I do to correct the wrong-doing of CMF? I would force them to buy back their 2M shares from the open market, but announce it publicly on the day that they have to start doing so. This will have an effect as in a short squeeze. This will have two positive effects at once. One, the pps will substantially increase substantially, as it always does when a short squeeze occurs. Two, this will hurt them terribly and they will hopefully learn their lesson and thus this would be punishment enough. After they bought back all 2M shares, the previous situation is reestablished and the dividend can be paid out, as promised to us.
Think about it, average volume per trading day currently is around 250k shares, they would have to buy all those average number of shares on 8 consecutive trading days, to buy 2M shares off the market and that with the full knowledge of everyone around. So we could just revert the games they played with us, when good news came out and everybody thought now the pps will go back up, they just waited an hour or two into the trading day to allow the uptrend to establish and then they dumped the next load into the market and they were the only ones profiting from the news. Now we would know that they need to buy back until e.g. the end of the year and they need to beg us to sell them our shares. And with only 44M shares available and about 50% of them restricted, this is going to be a nightmare for them.
