Yes! makes a lot of sense! For people who are not interested in the long term success of GNBT, the idea of having the PPS cut in half after the dividend but their shares are not eligible for dividend probably caused panic...so they started to sell...
BTW - Joe did say they sold 2 million instead of 4 million...kept 2 million to pay dividend....so, they probably were not thinking of buying after the dividend.

Knowing they are not due dividends and that the share price would be cut in half they just started unloading. Using hypothetical numbers. If you have 100 shares at 2.00 you know the pps is going to go down as a result of the div. You sell down to an avg of 1.20. Even if the div occurs at 80 therefore reducing the share price to .40 you can buy the shares to cover the owed div and still be at the pre div price.
