You never know until the next set of numbers come

You never know until the next set of numbers come out. But based on the numbers doc posted today they are still high but decreasing. I would think that since the endless supply of cheap shares was found out and since I would expect increased scrutiny by all agencies and since the dividend will be issued on Friday I would expect panic to set in on Friday and shorts to cover by end of day on Monday. Or at least try. This is just my opinion. I know very little about short sales other than how it works. I do know from a conversation with a TDA rep that if you short shares that are due a dividend that you owe the div to the account you borrowed from.
So if you take a short position pre div and hold it through the ex div date and cover after the div is paid you don’t get a dividend but you owe it to the person who’s shares you shorted. Not a situation I would want to mess with.
