I think you are thinking too much about it, it is in lawyer hands now and nothing about that step goes quickly or efficiently. The partner has a lot to lose if they stonewall. There are other opportunities and if they keep pushing they might miss out. Imagine lawyers on both sides negotiating the details of a deal to split profits for a drug that has multiple indications and is not yet approved by the FD A. Nothing about that says it going to be without issues and negotiation. Has anyone ever worked with lawyers negotiating and had it go as planned, on time? Even a condo closing gets complicated once lawyers jump in.
