Well, J&J used to be known as the Baby Powder people. Great image. One of the best ever. But now it has been proven that the baby powder kills people. They also addicted and poisoned people to death -- or had a hand in on it. J&J's CEO is dealing with law suits from 100,000 people.
One less suit over a patent isn't going to make the CEO's life any easier. But, the suit, after one upcoming ruling, could make the lives of new Platinum/Lifescan management unbearable. When a guy is already bleeding to death at a predictable rate, most people do not then shoot the already terminal company. But DECN did and keeps doing it and despite the good working relationship the Platinum people have with DECN, they hear the tank turret turning -- on them. Platinum's biggest fear is that they or J&J will settle with DECN, goves him a bunch of money, and he decides to use it to build the company, not reward thankless shareholders. And then KB comes back and says, "OK I have enough money to do GenUltimate TBG on our own. Platinum, a new Sheriff is in town." That is unless a group of message board posters get involved like they have in the past.
