Colbert Pays Musical Tribute to Trump’s Florida Move With ‘New York, New York’ Parody (Video)
Trump, a lifelong New Yorker, filed last week for a change in primary residency from Manhattan to Palm Beach, Florida. While the times cited an anonymous Trump administration official who said the move was for tax purposes, Trump later tweeted “I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state. Few have been treated worse.”
Skip ahead to the Late Show’s tribute, which featured a Sinatra-esque crooner singing modified lyrics to “New York, New York,” originally written for Martin Scorsese’s 1977 film of the same name. In case you can’t watch the video yet, the parody lyrics are:
