Well, I'll be darned!! Yeah, Spads with a Load has a funny story behind it. An A1 pilot friend of mine had started attending the Special Forces reunions to put together the pilots with the actual people they supported on the ground. The effort was tremendously successful and impacted a lot of lives. At one reunion my A1 friend, Don Engebretsen one of the very first FedEx pilots, called me from Vegas. said the boys were singing a song that they wrote and sang in 'Nam and was wondering if I could put some images with it. So I said sure and asked when they would need it. His reply,"Day after tomorrow". lol So I got to work and a bit over 24 hours later I sent them "Spads With A Load". The rest is history and has thousands upon thousands of hits. Just so happens I have what is probably the best collection of A1 footage that exists due to my research on finding the A1 pilots that supported me on my rescue. The F4 scenes are actual footage from my tour in 'Nam. That, and some on the spot creative juices got 'er done in time for them to view it at the reunion. Don told me they sang their song time after time as they viewed it and the folks at Vegas were wondering what the big celebration was all about-ha! I got more satisfaction, and still do a result of letters like yours that are so meaningful to me, from this production than any other I have done. Thanks for relating this to me. All the best.
