The USAF procurement contract details are unknown at this time. The most recent ACS video shows a fighter pilot in the cockpit. Fighters fall under Air Combat Command. gimli highlighted concern about Stratcom with a linked article (thank you). For interoperability and standardization purposes the component commands must adhere to the same COMSEC standards. Consequently, IMHO this will become an Air Force wide contract. Then the other service's COMSEC officers will say they want the SFOR shield for their branch as well! That's if they didn't already do so by midnight of 9/30.
