This is true, but it's good to see cannabis reform of any kind.
Another thing to remember, and to your point, this is about marijuana, but nothing written here is cemented in. It will evolve.
Eventually you should see THC infused edibles and beverages in most places that legalize recreational use.
THC should and most likely will be viewed and regulated in the same way alcohol is.
Right now, everybody is approaching it with CYA caution, as if poking a sleeping bear. It's all about political career protection. That should change once all of the BS dust settles.
The "evil weed" preachers will slowly go away (or at least be ignored) as their credibility is challenged by rock solid clinical facts.
