When Dr Pestell joined the company, he was regarded as the new face and effectively a replacement for Nader. Everything about him looked stellar and most on the boards agreed that this was a great situation. What happened? lost 6 months of progress. When Tony C got directly involved, the same thing happened. I'm not saying Nader is the greatest and nobody can surpass his skill set, but to think we could just replace him with a seasoned CEO and expect nothing but greatness is naive. How would the PR look that Nader has been moved to the background or fired at this point? How quickly do you think a new CEO, if actually qualified, can get deals done? At this point it really is time to play the cards you have and stop re-engineering. We are way past the "putting a team together" phase. In my experience, the people who show a never give up attitude succeed far beyond those with stellar resumes. It is easy to look like the person who did great things, hard to actually walk the walk.
