In my speculation, I think the reason NP may be so confident in this current deal despite the stock price is the one get out of jail free card we still have for negotiation. Monotherapy. I'm guessing there is underlying talks of that in this.

If people remember the NuGilead poster who was much maligned for their initial post but subsequent posts seemed to be accurate. They called for an offer after the August meeting and voila, September we have a NBA, that poster also stated that if the holy Grail of monotherapy gets approved... buyout. NP has already openly stated with combo we are $5-10, with mono $25. That gives the pharma a heads up on what to expect or start the bidding at, or this pharma might expect a hometown discount having an established relationship with cydy already, by helping get them to initial approval and revenue.

I still consider this potential deal a bit of a binary event. If it hits though, things heat up. Like free agency in sports someone sets the market.

Probably needed in this case. Pharma's don't know how to valuate a drug that's not a pill and no serious side effects. They've never seen that before. Cydy may set the precedent for what patients expect from their medicine.

Remember when we used to have to buy whole cassettes or CDs to get the one or 2 songs we liked? Or having to sit through commercials? Perhaps a world where we expect higher quality drugs without side effects is coming.
