The only problem with your theory is that if they wanted to sell, why wouldn't they prop the price around $2.70 rather than $2? If they have the power your scenario suggests, use the MMs to keep the price up while selling, not down.
Even better, why not prop the price higher by throwing another $50,000 at the pps, then start the sell off? If these folks have the kind of money the scenario suggests, that shouldn't be an issue and would be much more lucrative than dropping and holding the pps at $2.
Just my thoughts. I've played this whole scenario through my mind, trying to go back on previous experiences etc. to come up with a plausible reason for what we are seeing. I can't come up with any reasonable scenario other than someone is messing with us for his or her own reason.
PS: And I don't really think Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd are wagering a buck to mess with the shareholders! Looking good, Billy Ray. Feeling good, Louis!
