He was a successful entrepreneur in a wide array of industries. In 2001, he founded and was the President of BioElectronics Corporation, the makers of an award winning FDA approved medical device.

Andy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia, and their children Robert Whelan, Kelly Whelan, Janel Zaluski, and Lauren Jarman and her husband Todd. He will be remembered for his unwavering love and encouragement to live fearlessly and without apology by his grandchildren April, Andrew, Colin and Brian Whelan, Kaitlyn Lorenz, Shane and Riley Zaluski, Alexis and Todd Michael Jarman, and his great-granddaughter Alaina Jarman. He will also be remembered by his sisters Bernice Nestor and her husband Matthew, Jane Cooney, and Mary Whelan and his sisters-in-law Audrey Wisniewski, Betty Rutkowski, and Marie Wall.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 pm at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist, 3519 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD. Andy proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1964. At a later date, he will be laid to final rest at Arlington National Cemetery where he will receive his final salute.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Veterans Service Organization, Hope for the Warriors, www.hopeforthewarriors.org.
