The risk of a recession is rising, and the main threat to the economy the Trump administration’s ongoing trade war, according to a survey of a panel of business economists.
The results of the survey, conducted the week of Sept. 9-16, come as many analysts see warning signs in the latest U.S. economic indicators.
Trade policy gets much of the blame in the NABE survey, with just over half the panel citing trade as key downside risk to the economy through 2020.
