It's not a matter of thinking about it "wrong". Everyone has (or should have) their own personal exit strategy based on their unique situation. To me, your exit strategy sounds like it would generate a lot of interest payments if you're only paying minimum payments, while you're holding stock that you could partly sell and pay off your loans. It depends on how many shares you hold, but I would always be worried about reaching a point of diminishing returns with that strategy. Plus I'm not a big fan of paying interest. So that's a plan that fits your needs better than mine.

I'm on a very long term exit plan. I have enough for sale that if we see $5, I'll be set for life....and I'll still have 90% of my shares left. Those don't start going out until double digit dollars, and very conservatively.

I want to give Doc enough time to get the company fully operational and entrenched in its business, then I might sell a little more.

But the thing I'm really wondering about is whether or not Doc will set us up with a dividend. He certainly seems like a dividend type of guy. Merck dividend is presently .55/mo, paid quarterly. Just 1 million shares would bring $550,000 per month. If UNVC offers even $.10 dividend that's a hundred grand a month per million. This is the generational wealth Doc was speaking about, IMO.
