Legalization should help to reduce the use of MJ by youngsters. You'll never eliminate it all together any more than they have succeeded in doing with anything. If they're determined enough, they'll find a way, but most will eventually find it much more difficult to obtain without getting caught.
I believe adults 21 and over that are permitted to drink alcoholic beverages should also be permitted to smoke marijuana. Stoned on the job? Hell no. Not from the consumption of anything mind altering, but that's an issue easily addressed with marijuana as well as alcohol and other drugs, despite the claims of some who simply don't want to see it legalized. It will be regardless.
Not only that, but a big plus for legalization is that it frees up law enforcement to target true criminals such as those supplying youths with MJ for profit. Just as they would for supplying them with alcohol or narcotics. It will gradually get easier too, as the street supply gets undercut by higher quality, more variety, and dependability obtained at dispensaries.
Big pharma doesn't want legal weed because their afraid it will get too many people off of their poison pills, hurting their profits. Some pharmaceuticals are fantastic and make lives better, but a lot of them are highly addicting and not properly regulated. Holistic approaches like the moderated use of MJ can be FAR better for a long list of ailments.
