One thing from your post
"Got a gap of 30 years where I got too busy to listen to more than the radio while traveling" This "gap" is probably a common gap among us all.
As I approach 70, I can relate that gap. I have a closet full of old record albums from the 60' 70 & 80's but not many beyond this time frame. Got too busy to listen.
