After he tried to recover his phone, he was punched, body slammed, kicked, jumped on repeatedly, had a bike run over him and had multiple heavy objects thrown at him while he was on the ground. Police arrested more than a dozen members of the gang in the following weeks. No complaints from the mainstream media or the Democratic candidates about this outrageous racially motivated attack, and I doubt we will ever hear any.
