The NP-1 was built to serve a single purpose and that was to provide a 4K streaming device when there were none available. In 2013 when we began UltraFlix, most TV's did not have the ability built in to stream, and Roku was years away from releasing 4K. Our goal was never to be in the hardware business, only to provide a way for consumers to get 4K movies. As soon as the second generation TVs came out with internal ability to stream we immediately stopped producing hardware and focused solely on the streaming service. We had no desire to compete in the hardware space, and are very happy to leave that to the TV and STB manufacturers. The entire line of Nuvola players has been discontinued and won't be brought back.
