Japan Earthquake 2013 -
Reports are indicating the magnitude of the earthquake that hit Japan's northern island of Hokkaido was 6.9 and hit at 11:17 p.m. The good thing is that authorities say there is no danger of a tsunami and there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage which is great news. Japan has fallen victim of many deadly earthquakes in the past. As for the nuclear power plants, Japanese public broadcaster NHK says nearby nuclear power plants, including Tomari and Higashidori, which are currently idled for safety inspections. Talk about good timing.
