I've researched literally thousands of stocks over the years and watched 100's on watchlists. Almost all of the stocks on my watchlists, including the penny stocks, reacted to the news which caused the 800 point fall. As i said,in the long term biotechs are relatively insulated bc americans are said to be the sickest ppl on earth and spending on health issues is somewhat insulated from recession bc health is a relative necessity.
But in the short and medium term penny stocks are not valued as per their progress but valued as per manipulation by many mutant groups playing the stock market and especially the penny market like a roulette wheel, lottery or pinball machine.
These groups include bashers/shorters following the basher handbook who purposefully play on ppls emotions and fears,day traders in and out in 10 minutes a day,vendetta revenge players- former employees or management who spend the rest of their lives trying to destroy a company bc they were laid off or for any other reason -real or imagined,ex's and so forth letting revenge rule their lives,not realizing that in doing so they are giving their enemies control over them.
Only when signifcant progress which can be seen by a large investment pool do longs and thus value considerations rule over penny stocks-and that is a longterm proposition,so the day to day in thinly traded stocks does not usually matter,but as i said,after the 800 point drop a couple days ago essentially all the penny stocks on my watchlist were temporarily lower also.
Its a complicated battlefield, including non-stop games by mm's and various groups,including even shorting hedge funds and other groups who bypass,legally or not,the shorting rules.
Very few want to earn money the honest way - a microwave generation which does not abide by long honored historical rules of ethics just wants to pimp stocks via manipulation,so as i said that usually controls the short and medium term pps.
