I tried to find information regarding the cure rate after opioid treatment. What I find interesting is that no standardized measurement of success is currently available. Some claim success if they can just get addicts through a treatment process, some measure success if no use is taken up after a couple of weeks or a couple of months. But it is difficult to determine the size of the study groups involved, and even more difficult to find long term success rates. What I have found is that nearly half of all addicts die because of overdose or suicide.
The reason for my research is to find what Dalton's 25% success rate actually means. A 25% success rate might be truly outstanding. To the layman, the number doesn't seem all that impressive, but to a treatment specialist, this could be a game changer. I think it would be wonderful if Dalton could explain what this measurement means.
