Very true, but I know for a fact that bashers are a combination of skanky freelance shorters and paid idiots. It's not just a crooked MM here and there that can attempt to influence the direction of trade in this way.
Even banks have been involved as well. Any source with enough capital available and the desire to tap into the business or market manipulation, especially OTC penny stocks.
Most people would never have guessed that because it doesn't makes headlines like armed robbery. Not sensational enough, and the fat cats have the cash and the pull to keep it on the back page when they get slapped, if it hits the press at all.
I know there are paid turds working these boards because I've seen court transcripts that named various defendants whose message board alias's I recognized.
After that I knew there was a good percentage of them that were paid, especially but not limited to the more convincing characters that could actually speak English, spell (most of the time), and harness at least fairly decent grammar and vocabulary abilities.
They blend lies with facts in a way that fools many, but knowledge is power. The more facts you can retain or quickly reference, the easier it is to confirm they're liars.
Not totally important anyhow, as long as you have a group of concerned moderators invested in the stock. A major plus is that Investors Hangout allows us to delete everything posted by the known bashholes. Works great. Just flush the turds and be rid of em! lol
