Lorbas , I am reading about Capsid inhibitors for a long time already,
I think it is very interesting , but for now a very early study...
They interfering with late stage viral maturation with functions after virus enter into host cells , interfering with enzyme and/or protein that is needed by HIV-infected cells to makes new virus ...
Early study shows high potency and prolonged activities , in dogs up to 10 weeks.
But resistance could be induce when researchers tried ...
So far no serious negative effects but to soon to know in humans .
They estimate to finish phase 1B , with small amount of patients
( total 64 with double-blinded study , some patients will be compare to placebo and some to tenofovir )
sometimes second half of 2020 ,
so a very long ways to go , to finish phase 3 , and we don't know with what results or problems , and how many resistances may happen ...
Look promising in early studies.
