Uhhhh.... sort of. The big deal in that release is that DECN has split off issues related to J&J from issues related to Platinum. To me that means that DECN is probably close to resolving issues with one entity rather than the other. Is a settlement near with J&J, or is a deal close at hand with Platinum.
How much deeper is the pocket that J&J created for us with their first settlement?
J&J now has a Hobson's Choice. They either defend a losing hand, the original patent hand, and deny the words of the Chairman, or they admit that the words of the Chairman were accurate which is admitting directly to patent infringement. The bigger part of that "choice" is that the Chairman was running around talking about these things while trying to raise the value of Lifescan after the January 2018 sniff from Sinocare. This activity all pales in comparison to killing people with talcum powder, but it does raise the level of exposure well into 9 digits. So, a settlement sometime in the late Fall for my original $60-$80 million might get this done.
