From an informed medical perspective, one that you never see on these boards, consider this: a few of us were talking in the clinic....you know, where this actually happens. Lets play devil’s advocate and say that it takes longer for the pill formulation to get tweaked. Consider the marked results of the antibiotic Ph 2 trial. Tissue samples were taken to prove the bactericidal nature of the results. But macroscopically, erythema and edema is a result of inflammation, part of the immune response. Both of these were markedly reduced with one IV dose. Most of the current tier 3 treatments for IBD are injections. So, at the very least, you have an IV form of B with many less side effects but a demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory effects.
