Las Vegas, NV, July 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NEWMEDIAWIRE -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), a global leader in the industrial hemp industry with bi-coastal processing centers including the 85,000 square-foot multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina, a state of the art processing center in Medford, Oregon, and a 500-acre hemp growing Eco-Village in Golden Valley, Arizona, announced today the number of South Carolina hemp farmers has grown 565 percent since 2018.
Last year, South Carolina had 20 hemp farmers, according to the South Carolina Department of Agriculture. This year, the state has issued 113 permits which amounts to a 565 percent increase, reports show. This number has grown exponentially since the state removed the cap on the number of hemp growers there could be and how many acres they could grow.
“South Carolina is a unique climate that allows for hemp cultivation year-round so it is incredible to see this jump in hemp farmers,” said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. “We are excited for our neighbors to the south and hope these hard working farmers are able to bring back the family farm and continue this hemp revolution in America.”
Hemp, Inc. has operations in North Carolina with an 85,000 square-foot multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, which is approximately two hours north of the South Carolina border.
As farmers continue to see the value in cultivating hemp, Hemp, Inc. looks forward to educating the industry on the lucrative crop. Currently, the company’s subsidiary, The Hemp University, has educational seminars throughout the country to educate farmers on how to cultivate hemp and best practices. In the past, Hemp University seminars have been hosted in North Carolina, Oregon and Arizona.
Perlowin added, “With the increase of farmers in the state of South Carolina, we hope to make our way into the state to educate these new permit holders on the crop so they can hear straight from the experts and industry veterans themselves.”
Sativeo is located in South Carolina, and may become a Univec subsidiary. If not, then we will certainly have a very strong partnership with them.
