DEFINITION of Profit Taking
Profit taking is the act of selling a security in order to lock in gains after it has risen appreciably. Profit taking can affect an individual stock, a specific sector, or the broad market. If there is an unexpected decline in a stock or equity index that has been rising, it can often be attributed to many investors taking profits.

I am just talking about the profits on Friday I made. Comprehension and reading go hand in hand.
They sure do. You didn't profit Friday because the stock went up. Nor will you lose money today if she closes where she is, which is down. The value of the asset simply increases or decreases.
It's just like your house. The market value may go up or down, but until you SELL your house you don't make any money on it.
Do I need to go slower? I know this is a lot to take in. I'm concerned about you like you are about me.
