It amazes me why any country would allow bitcoins,

It amazes me why any country would allow bitcoins, tokens or any form of currency to be used at the expense of their own. Pennies and nickels cost more to make than face value but overall governments make a lot of money on their money supply and doesn't make sense to replace it with something they don't control or profit from.
