Believe it or not, at City of Hope they actually send someone to wherever stem cells are coming from to bring them there in the allotted time. In my case, because of a prolonged cold the cells were preserved and frozen cryogenically, that required a Hickman Catheter, which has a larger diameter, because of the size of the preservative that must flow in with the stem cells. Months later the catheter, which my Dr. wanted maintained should I have some need for it, got infected, I spent several days in the hospital because of I had finished 4 of 8 courses of Chemo at Cedar Sinai, but while I was being treated in outpatient for the infection I had an appointment at City of Hope and my Dr. there choose a different course of action to the stem cells, so I never had the last 4 courses of chemo. Of course I had other chemo, but it was far less rigorous than being in the hospital for all of it.
I believe we both have investments in companies where much is going on under cover which eventually will be announced. I know that partnerships cannot be announced until the very last required signature, notary, whatever has occurred. I know of cases where one key person was on vacation and they had to wait, I didn't hear about it until well after it occurred, but that's the sort of thing that occurs, and some people go on vacation for over a month.
