As always, thanks for your research and sharing. I agree if CCR5 is 90% higher in early stages because of the high risk lifestyles / sexual transmission, then I would think it has a higher probability of success in PrEP. I’m saying this assuming that HIV (at least in the US) is primarily transferred due to high risk sexual activity.
I saw a news interview not too long ago where HIV grew fast (small numbers in rural areas) due to opioid epidemic due to needle sharing. I’m not sure if this would fall into the macrophages criteria you discussed or higher probability of X4 tropic transmission?
