Marketing is a numbers game. Reach 1000 people, 1% convert. Same with followers. You spend marketing dollars (all companies do marketing) to campaign to gain followers, and a certain amount will stick. In this case, even if SIGO only gained 100 new, real followers, the cost to do so is minuscule.
