Acclaimed surfing feature "HEAVY WATER" launches to 550+ theatres June 13 from Fathom Events; HHSE plans Academy Awards campaignPress Release | 06/11/2019
Director Michael Oblowitz's acclaimed feature documentary "Heavy Water" will reach a nationwide audience this week with the June 13 launch to more than 550 theatres via Fathom Events. The film - which took more than four years to complete due to the logistical difficulties of filming extreme surfing situations - will enjoy an awards-qualifying release through Hannover House, Inc. (OTC: HHSE) designed to elevate its critical visibiity.
"We are honored to be working with both Michael Oblowitz and Redbull Media House again," said Hannover House C.E.O. Eric Parkinson. "'HEAVY WATER' is a visually stunning film with genuine goose-bump moments of suspense and inspiration. We look forward to presenting this quality feature to the leadership and voters in the major awards associations, and we are excited about the nationwide theatrical launch this Thursday. "
Hannover House will also be promoting the acclaimed German-language feature, "EASY LOVE" for Golden Globes and Academy Award consideration for 2019. The company is continuing its business transition from handling direct-to-video indie releases to quality theatrical titles and major event titles.
"The marketplace has matured to the point where consumers are demanding either top-shelf quality or event-level adventures. The prior marketplace in which low-budget or micro-budgeted independent features could thrive has been supplanted by the maturation and evolution of consumer trends, including the explosion of growth in the digital streaming of entertainment," said Parkinson. "Both 'HARD WATER' and 'EASY LOVE' represent the high level of quality programming and critical appeal now required for commercial success in the North American theatrical, home video and digital streaming markets."
