They are more than likely waiting to announce that the device works by announcing they have found something with it. Otherwise people such as yourself would say "if it works why haven't they found anything?".
Are you suggesting they don’t need to find anything to prove it works?
Isn’t it possible it (ahem) could work and there is no silver and gold on site to find?
