It was evident that there were many, many paired trades today. For instance, 2600 shares traded, then another 2600 shortly thereafter. Buy and sell shares from oneself, boom, looks like 5200 shares were traded, when the net change in position was zero. And there were lots of obvious pairs with much higher share counts.
Lots of today's volume was BS. But I think that lots of it was genuine panic in the morning -- people who hadn't covered decided they'd better cover.
Alan, I know you won't agree with this, but that's how I see it. When there are so many identities suddenly popping up claiming to be bullish, well, it sure seems like at least one trading gang has changed sides.
