If Senator Tillis has requested constituents use the email address provided by all means do as he requests! I wrote his DC office but then followed it up with the email contact form on his homepage.
Believing in redundancy with my State's Sen.& Rep. in addition to letters and emails I followed them up with calls to Senator King's and Representative Pingree's DC offices since I am one of their constituents. In the past I have also driven to their field offices to speak in person with a senior staffer.
I will do that again once I become aware of the floor vote date to timely underscore my "constituent concern" (as staff terms it) on ALICE reform. In the past the responses were twofold. First the senior staffer assured me my comments would be faxed to the Senator or Representative. Then I got a call from a DC office staffer to discuss the issue. Moral of the story, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Do what you think best Jane. Me, once I commit, I'm as hard charging as possible but that's the way I operate.
