We will never know. It does not make complete sense to me for any entity to put forth an effort to "pump" the stock price up over a four day period just to sell shares at one penny over the start price. If they sold 2M shares the gain would be just 20K. Why would a major player like Discovery do that for such a relatively small pickup?
Maybe the stock moved up a few ticks on its own as I originally believed and when it reached .03 Discovery stepped in and sold as many shares as they could on the way down as more buyers were coming in. For example, I bought 500K shares and Gary said he made a major purchase. Just a theory, but perhaps we unwittingly helped Discovery pick up a few dollars.
These activities, if they occurred, should be placed in the skating on thin ice file which will soon require a second drawer.
