Hi Misui,

I feel I.know much about you already from reading both boards.

I’ve been investing in Cytodyn on and off for over 3 years but have been long since mid last year thanks to you misiu and others like trding, chump, evilrbt, bdog, CI, LM, SJ and a few others ( sorry if I’ve missed anyone).

You’re medical knowledge, expertise, reasoning and caring nature towards patients has made me confident in the science itself and being comfortable in my investment.

As for my choice of alias “SeeWhyDY” as I thought everyone will soon know why!

On another note of “cure” this is an interesting topic as some suggest it does exist IF there can be found a suitable CD4 mutation donor and the patient is suitable and willing to take the risk of death. This method is also, very costly!

My in depth knowledge in HIV is large but still lacks in many areas.
I first got involved in HIV biotechs via SGMO, they have a product called Zinc Fingers or ZFN for short which I know has been raised on the other board.

Sangamo are able to take cells (including stem cells) from a patient and shorten the CD4 receptor sufficiently to stop HIV from being able to attach and infecting the modified cells.

I’d like your view on the following as a possible functional cure.....

In theory, is it possible to have 2 sets of CD4 cells in the one patient after ZFN modification of some stem cells are returned to the same patient.
This possibly would enable both unmodified and modified CD4 cells to propagate together in harmony but one being attacked and killed by HIV and the other able to attack and kill both HIV and infected cells and ultimately increasing in % of total CD4 population.

One possible issue I see is immune flare up but it is an interesting concept.
