i'm not familiar w the history of rs but maybe its related to one of many bizarre things i've seen wannabe hillbilly hoodlums do-
dressed in their hillybilly clothes (they werent real hillbillies -just wannabes-
with indian war paint (they werent indians)
smoking cigars (which they normally didnt do,begging for throat etc cancers),
drinking vinegar by the quart (to violate their nazarite vows)
and washed down by green olives- i've never understood why ppl eat horrible green olives when black olives are so good -how about eating green tomatoes etc
