Re: redspeed #15229
1. Never invest more than what you’re willing to lose
2. Never invest in start up techs or long term companies if you have a timeline
3. If you think we are undervalued and it’s ridiculous we are at this SP, then buy more if you can (that’s what I’m doing).
4. If you’re worried each day and stare at the price but aren’t gonna sell then don’t look each day, not worth the stress.

Side note: This is now the only company I own shares of. I put a lot towards retirement accounts even though I’m young (28 and started years ago) because I see long term and want to be sure that I’m all set and my future kids will be all set. Plus there’s no user error with that, I have two different advisors, my stuff is showing good growth imo so I’m happy, I only look when I get the quarterly statement.

I don’t have the money to buy the higher priced stocks I like and have it be worth it. They’ve mostly all gone up a decent amount but if I put the money I’ve put here in them then the reward isn’t even 10%, not even 5% of what the reward here can be.

A lot of people my age and younger don’t think long term, I’d say at least half don’t have anything set up for retirement unless their job does it for them. So I spread the word as much as I can, get in young, you’ll be very happy you did.

My dad came to the country at 17, didn’t know English. They didn’t have much when it came to retirement in Italy. There you just had a bunch of kids to help on the land, at a certain age they just paid for everything for you, that was retirement. So he started late, when I was younger he said if I knew then what I know now I’d already be retired. So a lot of my shares are for him and my mom, they’re not ready to retire yet, I know they’d be bored as hell most of the time, but I’d like them to be soon, as Red said you never know what can happen and when. I’ve known numerous people that retire and then get diagnosed with something or have died in their sleep before they even get their first social security check. My parents like to travel and I still have a lot of family in Italy, so within a year or two I want them done with work and go wherever they can before they get too old they can’t do it anymore

That turned into a long post with many directions
