Since there is nothing to talk about for now , I will like to give again my observation about deal President Trump just did with Gilead ..

We talked about it here in the past..

Big part of President Trump plan to stop spread of HIV is to use PrEP drug for HIV negative people with high risk , and teach them that even with this , condom must be use.

Truvada is use for this reason , but this is not 100% protection , there are 7 patients now who developed HIV on Truvada PrEP..

Also Truvada is not covering drug resistant virus , which we see more often now , and patients on it might actually develop drug resistance .

Truvada has a lot of side effects , now Gilead apply for approval for PrET of new drug ... Descovy ...

The difference with Truvada is that they adjusted dose of Tenofovir and they claim that it will have less of side effects,
After that some patients suing Gilead that they , knowing of very bad side effects didnt do it sooner.

We will see what will happen with that..

Again Truvada and condoms are use for long time and in 2017 in USA we had over 39,000 new HIV patients.

Statistics much worse in Africa , Central and South America.

But they trying ...
Not much more really can be done before cure and vaccination...
