I think it's getting to be that way. Samsung use to build good TV and their picture quality was excellent.
The last one I bought had the crappiest display I had ever seen in a flat screen.
I will say, their higher end stuff still has some quality to it, but nothing wrong with looking for more cost effective alternatives....
