Student Backlash Over Pro-Israel Column

A professor at Chicago's DePaul University professor joined Tucker Carlson Wednesday after students voted for a resolution to condemn him for an op-ed defending Israel.
Writing in The Federalist, Dr. Jason Hill argued that "Israel has the moral right to annex all of the West Bank, for a plethora of reasons. Israel’s right to exist is non-negotiable and it has a right to unilaterally apply Israeli law over its nation-state."
"I'm being censored because I've taken a very positive pro-Israeli stance in a very anti-Semitic culture on college campuses that are pushing for BDS movement and divestment against Israel. I'm a conservative independent who speaks his mind very clearly and will not be silenced," he explained.
Hill, a professor of philosophy who's taught at the school for nearly 20 years, referred to the global "BDS" movement, which stands for "boycott, divestment and sanctions" to protest Israel.
"Aside from defending Israel, I made the point that Israel was the only democracy amidst a bunch of illiberal and primitive regimes that do not respect the inalienability of human rights and individual rights," he explained, saying students and faculty took offense to him defending Israel's "right to defend itself against the war that was launched against it in 1967 by Jordan.
In response, Hill said students accused him of being "racist, xenophobic" and an Islamophobe and called for his removal. He said they falsely accused him of supporting "ethnic cleansing and genocide" and claimed Israel is an "apartheid state."
Carlson criticized the students for acting like "hysterical children" in the latest example of liberals shutting down views they disagree with.
"We can only hope this moment passes and this revolution burns itself out soon," he said.
