which is the same line I've been pushing to my 100s of followers here ever since the Tristar fleet was acquired in March 2018 and I first took an interest in $TMPS - which of course has several other multi-year, multi-$M DoD special mission aircraft contracts. I have also been sharing those views over on iHub since the contract award on April 18,2019.
Right up until the contract was awarded in its current form on April 18,2019 - and it became obvious it had been a 3-way competition - I was expecting $TMPS to get a contract in its own right - specifically tailored to what it can deliver - which is 50% more than Omega if it uses 3 aircraft or 100% more if it uses 4 aircraft.
I was also expecting Omega to carry on with its smaller contract which - although the then "requirement" was tailored to its small fleet - was nevertheless worth a total of $396 over the last 12 years for which contract information is available on-line (out of 20 years total).
I have consistently stated that there is more than enough work - worldwide - for any small contractor that can come up with ex-military or converted civilian aircraft - both to help out with the DoD "tanker gap" that will persist for 20 to 30 years - and for those that get taken over / merged into larger operations - such as the Northrop Grumman initiative for the USAF or a conglomerate mirroring the UK's Airtanker $16.5M model providing and entire percentage of the capability for a significant time period (27 years in the UK).
Whatever happens, the $TMPS Tristar fleet - and any other retired or new aircraft they might add to the fleet later - will be fully employed by someone.
