IMO, the CFO had no prior knowledge that SB had done a toxic deal with the Canouse brothers. That's why it wasn't reported until six months after it happened. I'm sure SB just e-mail him the paperwork and told him to deal with it.
Remember the CFO is a "virtual" CFO. He's not in constant contact with SB. He just prepares reports based upon what SB gives him and what SB wants him to disclose.
