He is listed as a consultant. He may have some liability insurance with the company, but a consultant should also maintain his own insurance policy. He answers to no one, but is hired to oversee the operations and offer input, based on his experience and/or connections. He should be able to recommend pay raises in order to retain qualified personnel and make recommendations also
