Palm Beach, Florida April 17, 2019. Mr. E.W. Letiziano, CEO, Signet International Holdings, Inc. (otc: SIGN) announced that the company, in association with Florida International University has filed yet another patent to support its January 22, 2019 approved patent. The approved patent trademarked by the company, “deIce 477,” cites over 16 Claims and Drawings.
“This PCT patent will give us protection in a large number of countries,” said Mr. Bradley Nelson, Vice President and Chief Engineer of the company’s subsidiary.
The PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) provides international protection implementing a unified legal agreement between all member countries that have ratified the 1970 accord.
The company expects a quick turnaround from the Patent Office, since its examination revealed no prior art as alluded to in the original filing. Mr. Nelson is currently evaluating development and testing procedures with the FIU team of engineers to staff and equip the FIU labs facilities.

(SIGN), announced today the appointment of Bradley Nelson, V/P of subsidiary Graphene Technologies, Inc. to assume liaison role in the development of the new deicing project in connection with Florida International University (FIU).

Mr. Nelson has been conducting his research in his lab at Stony Brook University, New York where he has completed the installation of several advanced visualization systems including the “Reality Deck” 1.5 Giga Pixel Display room. He received his Engineering Degree in Aerospace Technology from the State University of New York. He was one of the original designers of the polygon-scanned large screen laser video projection system that was installed at the SAC military facility. While at Ampex Corporation, Mr. Nelson was part of the design team charged with developing the AVA3 computer graphics system and has extensive experience in computer, optical, and electronic engineering including the design and prototyping of multilayer P.C. boards. Mr. Nelson has been granted several U.S Patents. He also developed stereoscopic displays used by Intel, NVidia, Kia, Hewlett Packard, Sony, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratories. (SGT), announced today that the company has executed a contract with Florida International University (FIU) to further the development and commercialization of a new deicing technology enhanced by graphene, the revolutionary carbon-based nanotechnology.
Adhesion of ice to the surfaces of aircraft in inclement weather severely compromises aircraft aerodynamic performance. Time-consuming airport deicing operations are performed for safety, causing extensive flight delays for travelers and a heavy financial burden for the airline industry. Airport Lifestyle magazine notes that the average cost of deicing a passenger aircraft is over $7,000 per coating.

A team of engineers at Florida International University headed up by Professor Arvind Agarwal, PhD, Chair of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and his team in Plasma Forming Laboratory: Ms Jenniffer Bustillos, Dr. Cheng Zhang and Dr. Benjamin Boesl have developed a graphene foam−polymer composite with superior deicing efficiency and strength. The graphene-foam polymer composite provides lightweight coatings and free-standing components with heating abilities, with exceptional thermal stability. The graphene reinforcement also increases the tensile strength of the polymer coating on the aircraft and reduces the impact of nasty toxic chemical runoff seeping into the ground and water.
The patent application, entitled, “Three Dimensional Graphene Foam Reinforced Composite Coating & Deicing Systems Therefrom,” was a result of research conducted by a grant from the U.S. Army Research Office. Signet Graphene Technologies, Inc., intends to further develop the technology and make it ready for mass production. This invention is expected to have a major impact on the aircraft deicing market, which, according to Opus Materials Technologies, the U.S. spends over $1.30 billion in deicing fluids alone.
