When first acquired, the plan stated by $TMPS was to use 3 aircraft as tankers as 3 as a spares source.
The 3 x KC1 are dual role tanker / transports.
The K1 is a tanker only.
The 2 x C2 are transports only.
The shareholder who contacted me yesterday - with the info that the USN would pay $TMPS for the redeployment from the UK - suggested that 4 aircraft might now be used.
I will ask the company this also. The use of a 4th aircraft would not affect the contract as the $121M is based on delivering a set amount of fuel over the 5 years through to 2024. However it would increase mission availability rates and thereby improve the prospects for getting additional contracts down the line.
